I really hate this restaurant. They are always busy b/c it is right outside of gate 4, but if you have a taste for REAL mexican food then this is not the place for you. I have eaten here two other times, but after today I will never be going back. Other than their terrible customer service and lack of knowledge of the English language, their food is also cold and disgusting. I always get chile relleno, I know what a real chile relleno tastes like and instead of what I ordered I got a soggy deepfried green bell pepper with an ounce of cheese in it... and the seeds were still there. It was cold too. I also got the guacamole salad which was fine, but they charged me $3.00 for two tablespoons of guacamole and a cup of shredded lettuce. Let's be real, this place sucks and soldiers only go here because it beats eating at the chow hall every day and it is conveniently located outside the gate.

This place was good. I mean... good. Lots of margarita specials. Lots of good food. I had the carne asada tacos twice (a huge amount of food, but also a huge amount of delicious). What is not to love? Low price point. High flavor. As a note, their beans are not to be touched. Yuck. But everything else I've had (off my plate or those around me) was really great. And considering where we are, it is all the way to awesome.

I can't believe this place only has two reviews, but maybe Yelp hasn't quite reached the south, yet. When I was active duty at Ft. Campbell, this was THE lunchtime spot! It was so popular that if you wanted to go, you needed to rally your friends by around 10:30 and sneak out by around 11 (lunch was officially at 11:30). I took away a star because the parking is a pain in the butt because the lot is pretty small...if you go, definitely carpool and be prepared to circle around forever until you luck out. Also if you go around peak time**, the line is typically out the door and down the sidewalk (long lines at at estabablished establishment usually mean the people are doing something good, right? This is why I am confused both reviews are only 2-star. Are we talking about the same place?) **when the 101st is NOT deployed. When they are, you can pretty much scoot right in because easily 90% of the clientele during the workweek lunch are military and/or their families. I'm assuming that when they're deployed, this place, like other local establishments, takes a nosedive in business. I have never gone for anything other than lunch. Based on that, you can't beat the chicken taco salad (my personal fave) and the limitless chips and salsa...if you don't order a soda, you can easily get out of there for about $5 before tip. The chicken taco salad...I believe there are two...is so darned good. I miss it! I'm not sure which one is which on the menu so you may have to make an educated guess. The salsa is really great. It's not uberweak, and it's not chunky (I personally am not a fan of most chunky salsa). The chips are always fresh and always hot. Most of the waitstaff has limited English but they will get the gist of what you ask so it's no biggie. The owner is very nice and very unassuming; unless you know who he is, you will not be able to pick him out, as he is hustling as fast as his workers are.

Love this place. Clean fresh and quick price is right and margaritas are strong! Would recommend to anyone!

If you like the typical Americanized Mexican place that you find in military towns, then this place is for you. If you like good, authentic Mexican food, then don't come here. Not only is the food sub-par, the service was slow and the guy who seated me acted annoyed that he had to seat me... I waited at the front for 10 minutes, by the way, before anyone came over to seat me. The restaurant wasn't even busy-- maybe 25% capacity. I only saw two guys serving 7 tables that were sat, though, so that might've been part of the problem.

Great food and service, fantastic margaritas and cheap beer. Food comes fast, chips and salsa are very good, and the owner makes his appearance quite often!

Bland. I've never had such tasteless Mexican food in my life, but this place hits the nail right on the head. I'm sure the only reason this place gets busy is because it's located right outside gate 4. Don't let that fool you into thinking this place tastes good!

Live this place!! Reminds me of a restaurant back home. The food is excellent especially the pollo bandido.

The dinner here was exactly what I expected for a moderately priced tex-mex restaurant. Decent salsa, decent taco salad, decently priced import beer. What gave this a bump up to above average is their tasty house-made chips and their ice fruit pops at the end. These ice pops were a little slice of tropical heaven. They are in a variety of flavors from strawberry or coconut to dragon fruit or taro. If I lived in the area I would buy a new flavor every day. ¡Fantástico!

This was the best Mexican food in Clarksvegas in 1997. Still great! The lunch special #4 steak burritos has been the go to meal for years. Guarantees a nice, warm food coma for those ridiculous afternoon meetings. Salsa is better than ever and they even have horchata now!!! Strawberry margharitas are nice and 'skrong'...!!!

  • Anna L.

YUUUUMMM this place was delicious!! best horchata HANDS DOWN i ordered the fajita for you but it was enough for a table of 4. steak fajitas are the way to go. and try their monster margaritas while you're at it.

Disregard this review. This was a confusion on the restaurant name. However, I will be trying this restaurant soon. I hope is up to our expectations after all the good review I found here. We are big fans of Mexican food.

The queso (white melty cheese you dip your chips in) is sublime. The people are nice and you get a big bang for your buck. In other words, lots of food for little money. The food itself is decent. I stick to the chicken and steak dishes. The ground beef is dried out and bland, so don't order those "specials" where you pick three items of your choice cause the meat is gross (unless they let you substitute chicken or steak). Nice clean interior and love the atmosphere.

This place was good. The flavors in the food were great. The service is fast and the waitstaff is friendly. Would definitely go back here again!

I went here with friends. It was not too bad..but not that good either.....there are better choices in Clarksville

Went there for lunch, very crowded but food came out quick. I had lunch special, taquitos mexicano or something like that. Taquitos were good. Instead of shredded lettuce, they had salad mix which I didn't like much. Mexican rice was blend. It wasn't the best mexican food I had.

We stopped here on our drive down to Kissimmee, FL. We were traveling with a group of 4 adults, 2 teenagers, and 2 10yo kids Everyone was satisfied with the food. I ordered 4 chicken soft tacos and a side of rice and was pleasantly surprised. The tortillas were warmed on the grill and the chicken was extremely good. The restaurant was even vegetarian friendly for one of the other adults in our group. Overall, I would be back if ever in the area and am a fan.

The only thing that is authentic here is the staff. Panch villa is a very confused mix of tex-mex, so-cal and mixed region food. Very bland and lacking in execution. Fort Campbell, Oak Grove and Clarksville do not have many options for real mexican food and this place stands near the bottom regardless of category.

Across from Fort Campbell. Tortilla chips and salsa were served before the meal. They were from a bag and bottle, but good. Food was good and portions were large. I got the mixed fejita (chicken and beef). The beef was a bit tough and the chicken was tender. The flavor was good. It was served with flour tortilla and refried beans, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole from a pre-made source. It was an inexpensive meal. Service was good. I would return when in the area.

I love their cheese sauce! Normally I get the steak nachos... The steak is so tough I can rarely chew it and instead just try and swallow it. Beef is soggy. But it beats Taco Bell

The service was good even though they were super busy for lunch and only two servers for the front of the house. Food was nice portions and not spicy. One of our favorite was the fact that they brought out individual bowls for salsa

Love Pancho's! They have great service and food. The bathrooms are clean and the staff is incredibly nice and they well substitute without question. I had gastric bypass and they were compassionate and brought me broth! Before the bypass, the chimmy w/ steak was my go to meal. That with the white sauce is amazing. Plus they have $1.99 Margaritas Wednesdays and Saturdays...AND they deliver!

  • Michael S.

Pretty decent place for this part of the world. Most of the plates have a red sauce on it, which is ok. But go for the white sauce.

First time here. Ordered nachos pancho villa. My husband had crunchy fish tacos which he said were delish. My nachos were just ok. There was no queso cheese it came with shredded cheese. The beef was ground beef and the chicken was to shredded to be of much use. A few min in everything melted together. But all in all it was ok. I really liked their chips and salsa! I def didn't enjoy their pancho villa margarita. It was WAY to sweet and came from a machine. I'll stick with Don Pancho.

I am from Texas, and I loveTex-Mex food... So the enchiladas are not the same. However, Fajitas and Carne Asada (grilled steak) is delicious. The Rice and Beans are good too and dont forget the chips and Salsa. Now that KY is a non smoking this place is great.

We have been here 3 times but after the last time I have to give 1 star. We went on new years eve and they refused to sell us alcohol and the waitress wouldn't even tell us why she was beyond rude. The salsa tasted pretty bad when usually they have great salsa and the enchiladas I got were disgusting. The red sauce they use taste like ravioli from a can..never again.

I don't understand why this place only has three stars. Are people really that picky about their Mexican food out here? Honestly, for a Mexican restaurant in the "New South", this place was pretty darn good. A friend and I stopped by here on our way home from picking her up at the airport. We got stuck in traffic down in Nashville due to some idiot who was driving too fast in the rain, so it took us longer than normal to get back up here - Needless to say, we were both starving. I've only been to three Mexican restaurants out here, one of which doesn't really count (Burritos), and I'd say this place has been the best so far. We got in around 5pm, were seated almost immediately. Chips and salsa came fast and our waiter was absolutely awesome. I ordered a chimichanga and my friend ordered a steak fajita. Both, again, came out pretty fast .. But they gave me someone else s order instead (I didn't order a burrito, dangit!). Thankfully they corrected it and I got my yummy chimichanga instead. Like I said before, our waiter was awesome, but it seemed like entire staff was preoccupied with something else. I don't know, it almost felt like everyone was distracted. The decor and overall inside of the place was very nice and very clean - Almost felt like I was back in CA. When I go out for Mexican food again, Im definitely coming back here.

My husband and I went here on our first day at Ft. Campbell. We are from California, so we are familiar with authentic Mexican food. This restaurant was decent, but not amazing. We ordered the steak fajitas, and the steak wasn't the greatest quality or the best seasoning, but the salsa was great and the guacamole was pretty good too. The service wasn't very good, though. Initially, we just ordered waters and shared the fajitas, but later in the meal decided we wanted some margaritas and our server was nowhere to be found. I had to go find someone and ask them to get our server. We will try this place again, but we will also try to find a better Mexican restaurant in the area.

Great food, awesome salsa. The portions are huge. I had the Steak Tacos and it was very tasty. For Kentucky mexican, it was above the rest.

Definetly a family place. There is basically no bar which is odd for a Mexican resturant. The wait staff is friendy and the food is average. The establishment is clean and orders are prepared prompty.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
